Shubh Mangal Savdhan is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film directed by R. S. Prasanna and produced by Anand L. Rai, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series. It is a remake of the 2013 Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, with Seema Pahwa, Gajraj Rao, Manu Rishi Chadha, Sheeba Chaddha, and Neeraj Sood in supporting roles.
The film tells the story of Mukesh Sharma (Khurrana), a young man who is engaged to be married to Richa Sharma (Pednekar). However, Mukesh suffers from erectile dysfunction, which he fears will ruin his wedding night. He and Richa decide to seek help from a doctor, but they are faced with the stigma and taboo surrounding erectile dysfunction in Indian society.
Shubh Mangal Savdhan was a critical and commercial success, grossing over ₹1.2 billion (US$15 million) worldwide. The film was praised for its sensitive handling of a sensitive subject, as well as for the performances of Khurrana and Pednekar. It also won several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Film (Critics) and the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
