Trapped is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language survival drama film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The film stars Rajkummar Rao as a call center employee who gets trapped in his apartment room without food, water, and electricity, and Geetanjali Thapa as his girlfriend.
Shaurya (Rao) is a call center employee who plans to elope and marry his girlfriend Noorie (Thapa), a day before Noorie's arranged marriage with someone else. Shaurya, who lives in a bachelor pad, makes plans to move to a new flat that will accommodate him and Noorie. In a rush to find affordable housing, he ends up moving into Swarg, a new high-rise apartment complex, which is empty due to construction and legal issues. The lone watchman stationed at the building is unaware that Shaurya has moved in, and Noorie does not yet know Shaurya's new address.
The next morning Shaurya inadvertently locks himself inside the apartment. He tries to call for help, but his phone battery is dead. He also tries to break through the windows, but they are too strong. Shaurya realizes that he is completely trapped, and he must find a way to survive.
As the days pass by, Shaurya becomes progressively more claustrophobic and desperate. He rations his food and water, and he tries to stay sane by exercising and writing in a diary. He also tries to communicate with the outside world by writing messages on the window pane, but no one sees them.
Shaurya's struggle to survive is both physically and mentally demanding. He must overcome his fear of heights, his claustrophobia, and his loneliness. He must also find a way to stay positive and hopeful, even when all seems lost.
Trapped is a well-made and suspenseful film that explores the themes of survival, hope, and the human spirit. Rajkummar Rao gives a powerful performance as Shaurya, and the film is visually stunning. Trapped is a must-watch for fans of survival films and psychological thrillers.
